Beating each other up and odd thoughts about the good of the human race

For the clarity of this obtuse blog post, I am going to define “society” as all the human individuals that happen to be existing on earth at any given time.

We’ll also agree that the “human race” refers not just to those who live at the moment, but all those who will come after us as well. All of the unborn generations.

In seeing the common humanity in all of the human race, I couldn’t help but think about how we all feel so much pressure and competition in life and business. Why is this so?

The stress of competition seems to divide us as individuals on a societal level, yet not on the level of the human race. We’re not concerned with burying those who are to come after us, just those who exist right here and right now.

Many have honorable aspirations towards those who will yet come after us. The individual never really has any contact with the human race at all except in the act of reproduction.

A bit of a strange blog post today, but I had these thoughts floating around and had to organize them on “paper”. They need a bit more work to make them a little more elegant and less awkward.
