Can you make somebody else want to change? Sure, you can explain the virtues of why changing for the better is good, but most of us know that the facts don't matter when you're arguing to change somebody's mind.
I got into a spirited argument with somebody yesterday and it started me thinking about what it takes for somebody to elevate the desire of real self-betterment above the desire to be seen as "right" in every moment?
Does it require a spiritual awaking of sorts? maybe the hand of an invisible power changing your inside before it's manifested on the outside? or maybe a seismic emotional event?
I'm not interested in what elicits change, I'm more interested in what elicits the desire to change.
Elevating the desire to make changes in your life for the better (whatever you deem "the better" to be) will subjugate your pride a great deal, it will help you to be a more humble and "cool" person (i.e. easier for others to deal with,) and you will both be more well-liked by others & constantly making positive change in your life that will affect you and those around you for the better.
