The harder you try, the worse you get

The creative person is required to come up with good ideas on demand. It’s really hard to do that.

Part of the difficulty is that it requires you to sit and think often and also trust the process with your whole heart.

Because if you don’t trust the process you press.

In the business of creativity, the harder you press, the harder you fail. The most you try, the worse the ideas. As bad ideas flow, you start to panic and your ideas get worse.

When the airplane goes into a dive, the best pilots have an instinct that takes over. They don’t try, they react and do to rescue the plane from the spiral.

We must have fun with our ideas even when the stakes are everything.
