The insidiousness of chasing views

It creeps in and overtakes your life. We've seen it destroy celebrity after celebrity and YouTuber after YouTuber. The chase for views, influence, and social standing in your group.

Sadly, all they get is a downfall, depression, and a search for meaning that never ends.

I see it every day in all the internet marketing experts who talk about saturating your market with your content. "Flood it out there, and success will come!" But that's not the whole story.

The whole story is getting good at what you do and then creating and sharing. Be honest with yourself, and when you think you're good enough, you're probably only 40% of the way there. Keep working on getting better.

Be the seed that grows in the dark and then unveil yourself and share your work aggressively.

Chasing views convinces yourself that you're the greatest, and things are perfect as they are. But there is always room to get better, and you can't help but ignore it.

Be popular because you're great and legitimately talented, not because you can buy enough ads or send enough emails to influencers on social media.
