I got a “stone” today that will allow me to sharpen the dull kitchen knives with which my wife and I have endured (dramatic, I know) for the past several years.
While pushing the cool metal blade across the smooth, wet surface of the stone I’m reminded of the stress and pressure we’re subject to each day. If we endure, we reap the benefit of a sharpened edge which is entirely our own.
Endure the friction of the rough, hard patch. Reach into the devastation that it provides and build a more resilient, more wise, more capable version of yourself.
This way you can endure the friction of rough hard patches for longer periods of time. (I’ve been told life will be full of them.)
