Watching live and remaining calm

Watching live updates is overrated. The highlight reel contains all the essential stuff and only takes ten minutes to watch.

But watching live and impulsively checking email, Twitter, and Instagram for updates and news is a trap we can’t resist.

When your team is down in the fourth quarter, it fills you with stress and frustration. Watching the highlight reel condenses that anxiety to a minute or two before you know the outcome.

Watching hourly updates to a process that may take weeks to shake out is unnerving. I can see it causing stress, anger, and borderline panic in many good friends and family around me.

Checking out the highlights once a day helps you remain measured and calm. When we look back on March 2020 from the perspective of July 2020, I think we will see things a bit differently than we feel them at the moment.
